“Yoga is a way of Life, not just Exercise,” says Yoga Guru Dr Hansa J Yogendra #YogaForHumanity
Yoga is all about connecting and bringing the world together. To put it simply it’s a way of life and more than just some ‘physical asanas’ as perceived by many. It is also inclusive of thoughts, food and one’s interaction with its environment and how it applies to daily life to realise the true potential of living.
“A person has to live Yoga,” says Yoga Guru and the Director of Yoga Institute Dr Hansa J Yogendra. The personality of a person has to become so much clear that they think before taking any action.
In an exclusive conversation with PBNS, Indian Yoga Guru and the Director of the Yoga Institute, Dr Hansa Jayadeva Yogendra tells us why we all should adopt Yoga as a Lifestyle.
Yoga for Self Reliance
Yoga Guru Hansa: Yoga is all about balance. Our actions are clearer and more accurate when we bring this balance into life. To subdue anger you breathe in and out – that’s Yoga, You stand on one leg in the posture of Vriksha to attain focus – that’s Yoga, – You see every technology of Yoga directs towards the mind.
As you think so is your life! The purpose of Yoga is to make you Think and Act better. In Yoga, we talk about “Self-reliance” – whatever we do we do for ourselves to prevent troubles, diseases, and sufferings. Yoga can ward off all that.
As soon as you wake up start with Yoga, from basic stretched on the bed to complete bowels, and so on. Ahara, Nidra and Asana – all are part of Yoga.
Today the World is accepting Yoga with Open Arms
“India is a place where thinkers, Tapasvis and Yogi were there who have searched within themselves and believed the whole world is within them. Our souls are a part of the universe itself, says Yoga Guru Hansa J.
Internationally, Yoga has to come up for people across the globe to have a clear understanding between ‘Pain’ & ‘Suffering.’ Pain is what the human body endures and suffering is what our mind perceives. With the understanding of Yogic life, one can learn from the pain and make a choice to ‘not suffer.’
Today, Humanity is really suffering, our lives are disrupted, people can’t even sleep and they are in depression, but with the learning of Yoga, one can bring balance to not suffer through problems but bring real change in their lifestyle.
Yoga to Stay Healthy in Post-Covid Era
The COVID-19 pandemic has opened everybody’s eyes and today we all realise how important our immunity is to fight any kind of virus. One virus goes the other comes, and finally, we people have to find means to make our bodies and minds stronger.
Covid restricted our ways of life, locking us in as a result our bodies were affected due to inactivity and our minds were under stress. Under all these circumstances, what we can do is learn Yoga and follow its many principles that will not only help us in the current times but prepare us for any future pandemics or disasters. When I say this, I mean bringing yoga into our day-to-day routines from performing asanas while sitting at work, stretching after waking up, eating the Satvik food, to meditating for a calm and collected mind.
Such little changes will help us not only tide over challenges thrown our way but also make the world a happier place with positive energy.
