In a landmark feet, Uttar Pradesh became the first state in India to successfully administer 5 Crore doses of the Covid-19 vaccine.
Further, it achieved the milestone of inoculating 25 lakh jabs, against Covid-19 in a single day on August 3 (Tuesday).
Elated by the significant collective achievement of the state, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath took to Twitter to congratulate the concerned authorities and the people of the state.
Further, he thanked PM Modi for his guidance and the people of the state for their active participation, without which attaining this milestone would not have been possible.

CM Yogi Adityanath reminded people that the Covid-19 vaccine is your only “Suraksha kawach” (safety shield) against the deadly pathogen. He ended his post by urging to everyone to take their jab “Tika jeet ka”, and help defeat Covid-19.
The Uttar Pradesh government led by CM Yogi Adityanath had set for itself the target of making a new vaccination record on Tuesday. The state government aimed to administer 20 lakh Covid-19 vaccine doses in a single day. For this, a mega campaign was launched in the state with more than 12,000 vaccination centers are operating in the state.

A massive Covid vaccination drive began in the state on June 1, after CM announced ‘Mission June.’
Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on June 4 had instructed the state officials to triple the state’s daily Covid-19 vaccination rate in a month.
Fresh directives to boost the immunisation drive were given by the state government. At a high-level Covid-19 review meeting, Yogi Adityanath instructed that “Every action necessary should be done to increase the daily vaccination capacity.”
He further gave directives to boost the current vaccination capacity by three times, within a month.” Currently, the vaccination drive is being carried out at 6,000 locations, and more than 14.68 lakh people have been vaccinated since the commencement of the mission.
According to this calculation, the three-fold goal would have entailed more than 10 lakh vaccines a day, however, the UP government under the able leadership of Yogi Adityanath overachieved the set target.
