The union territory of Kashmir has been at the center of a chequered history, for decades. Thus, the winds of peace have come as a breath of fresh air for the people of Kashmir. Be it employment, education, health, infrastructure, or tourism, J&K remains in the headlines for novel developmental projects.
And, it’s no magnification to say that the picture of Kashmir has changed in the last one & a half years.

– *Employment guarantee & growth of industrial ecosystem*:
*Central Sector Scheme for Industrial Development to provide employment to 4.5 lakh youth in J&K*:
The people of Kashmir embarked on the new year with a special gift from the union govt. With the approval of the Central Sector Scheme for Industrial Development by PM Modi in J&K, the hands that pelted stones are now holding onto a brighter future with secure jobs.
The scheme aims to revolutionize the industrial ecosystem of J&K & accelerate socio-economic development, with emphasis on job creation & skill development. This, to be achieved by attracting new investment & nurturing existing ones.
It is anticipated to attract unprecedented investment & give direct & indirect employment to about 4.5 lakh persons. Additionally, because of the working capital interest subvention, the scheme is likely to give indirect support to about 35,000 persons.
– *Gift of education for meritorious girls*:
The *Super-75* scholarship scheme recently launched by J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, to give wings to the dreams of young girls in Kashmir.
The scheme aims to support the education of meritorious girls from poor families, so that they can excel in streams like medicine, engineering, ITI & humanity, thus contributing to nation-building.
– *Tulip garden: novel & picturesque tourist spot in Kashmir*
Several initiatives have been taken to promote tourism in Kashmir & to put India back on the tourism map. Asia’s largest tulip garden was opened for the public on March 25, 2021, marking the beginning of a new tourist season in the region.
The Tulip Garden, formerly known as Siraj Bagh, is situated at the foot of the snow-capped Zabarwan mountain, overlooking the famous Dal Lake. More than 64 varieties of 15 lakh tulip flowers have bloomed in the garden.
– *Khelo India: the new dawn of sports in the valley*
In order to promote sports in J&K, events like the second edition of Khelo India were organized in Gulmarg in north Kashmir recently.
PM Modi said that these games in Gulmarg show that J&K is eager to reach new heights of peace & development. These games will strengthen the objective of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat”.
