Prime Minister Narendra Modi will today interact with Heads of Indian Missions abroad along with stakeholders of the trade & commerce sector of the country at 6 PM, via video conferencing.
Local Goes Global – Make in India for the World
The event will mark a clarion call by the Prime Minister for ‘Local Goes Global – Make in India for the World’.
Exports have a large potential for creating jobs, particularly for SMEs and high-labor-intensive industries, with a cascading effect on the manufacturing sector and the whole economy. The goal of the meeting is to provide a focused push to leverage and expand India’s exports and its global trade share.
The goal of the meeting is to energise all stakeholders to work together to increase our export potential and utilize local talents to meet global demand.
During the meeting, the Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal and the External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar will also be present. Secretaries from more than twenty departments, state government officials, representatives of Export Promotion Councils, and Chambers of Commerce will also participate in the meeting.
Make for World: PM Modi
Earlier also PM Modi in his Independence day speech, has reiterated several times that along with Make in India, we have to move forward with the mantra of Make for World. PM Modi has also urged all the citizens to work towards a Atmanirbhar Bharat or self-reliant India, and said that the country should strive towards bringing down its import bill and consume more locally manufactured products.
